Mom's Special Place

May 2, 1930 - November 2, 1999

Mom never really had the chance to enjoy her website as her health failed rapidly in the
past 2 weeks. She left us today to take her place in Heaven! While we rejoice her passing
we will miss her very much but she will always be with us in our hearts.

On Friday November 12, 1999 we commended Mom's ashes to the sea as she
had requested. A group of her children traveled to Jensen Beach and bid her
a fond farewell.

REST IN THE PEACE OF GOD'S LOVE MOM. WE LOVE YOU!!!

Mom is now gone from us for slightly over a year now.
We still miss her terribly but realize that she is ever watchful of all we do
and with us at all of our family events. Some of us have seen her, others have
felt her presence, and others have not had, maybe not needed, a visit.
We've not been able to connect with her yet via a medium.

Some of us have been to several seminars (John Edward and Shelley Peck)
but she has not come through. She will though when she is ready.
We look, listen, feel, and smell constantly for her.
Eileen has actually seen her sitting on the sofa in her house, smiling.
This came at a time of great stress for Eileen as she was about to undergo
a serious operation. It was Mom's gentle way of reassuring her that she would be ok.
And she is. Others of us have felt her near or dreamt of her when we need her counsel.
Always the right guidance without judgment.
Mom still gives it freely and we will always love her for that.

We have felt her loving presence at Mary & Jerry Cameron's Renewal of Vows
on their 25th wedding anniversary March 6, 2000 in Las Vegas,
Rich & Maggie Watters' wedding on February 1, 2002 in Orlando,
as well as at other family gatherings.

This page is dedicated to our Mother, Grace Watters, who is terminally ill.
We created this space to show her how much we love her and thank her for
all that she has given, and given up, for us. Had she not had us, or all
of us, she could have had an easier life. But instead she chose us,
for which the seven of us are eternally grateful.

So we created this place to show her how we feel about her,
to give her somewhere special to go when she is feeling blue,
and to show everyone what a special person Grace is.
This is also a place for family, friends, and soon-to-be friends
to leave words of encouragement when she needs it most.

Let us tell you a little about our Mom

Mom was born in New York City, New York on May 2,1930 to Ernest and Anna Rowley.
She was the second child born, and the only daughter. Her brother Edward, who has
already taken his place in heaven, was born a few years before her.

She lived all of her childhood life in New York but was whisked away to Chicago,
after a wedding in Norfolk, Va in 1948, at the age of 18, by our father Richard Watters.
They lived in several apartments around the Chicago area during the early '50's.
The family grew quite rapidly, starting in December 1950.
We are the children who love Mom:

Richard Jr (Rick) born in December'50
William (Bill) born in April '52
Diana (Bunny) Gower born in June '53
Thomas (Tom) born in August '54
Mary Cameron born in October '55
David (Dave) born in June '59
Eileen Locacius born in March '62

So, you can see that our Mom had to give up quite a bit of her life to raise all of us!

Mom and Dad purchase their first house in Oak Lawn, Il in October 1955 and it served as
home to all of us (some of us returned to the roost more than once through the years) until
she retired and moved to Port Saint Lucie, Fl in March of 1987, where she lives today.

Mom has always been a big part of our lives, giving advice and council when needed.
Always ready with a hug and a tissue for a broken heart, a band aid (we spent a lot of time
in the emergency room!), or anything else that was needed by one of her children.
Thinking always of herself last. To her we were the most important things in her life.

We have all experienced Mom's presence, guiding hand, and protection since she left us.
All of our sisters have smelled her perfume, sometimes at the same time. Eileen saw her
just prior to a major operation and knew that everything would turn out fine. Rick has
wondered how he managed to avoid a ticket, or had unexpected help. During the event, or
immediately afterward he will find a penny, which is Mom's sign to him that she is nearby.
Mary dreamt of Mom holding a new baby and within days heard news from her son Eric and wife
Shanti that they were expecting their 2nd child. We love knowing that she hasn't really left us!

God's Special Angel

Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born.
So one day he asked God, "They tell me You are sending
me to earth tomorrow, how an I going to live there being
so small and helpless?"

God replied, "Among the Angels, I chose a very special one for
you. She will be waiting for you and I will take care of you."

The child said, "But tell me, here in heaven, I don't do anything
else but smile and sing, that's enough for me to be happy.
And how am I going to be able to understand people when they talk
to me, if I don't know the language that men talk?"

God said, "Your Angel will teach you the most beautiful and sweet
words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your Angel
will teach you how to speak."

The child said, "And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God answered, "Your Angel will place your hands together and will
teach you how to pray."

The child said, "I've heard that on earth thee are bad men.
Who will protect me?"

And God replied, "Your Angel will defend you, even if it means
risking it's own life."

And the child said, "But I will be sad because I will not see you anymore."

And God said, "Your Angel will always talk to you about me and teach you the
way for you to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

And at that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth
could be heard, and the child in a hurry asked softly, "Oh God, if I am
about to leave now, please tell me my Angel's name?"

And God said, "Your Angel's name is of no importance.
You will simply call her MOMMY
